Teaching Kitchens is a nutrition-education program that helps enhance the food security and nutrition of those living with limited financial resources.
By helping to develop practical cooking skills and making healthier choices, participants learn hands-on practical cooking skills and healthy eating that can easily be applied in their own homes. Key lessons include: food safety, basic nutrition following Canada’s Food Guide, menu planning and budgeting.
Fresh For Less is a program that provides access to fresh fruits and vegetables. For a small fee, every month members can receive a box filled with fresh produce.
Collective Kitchens is a community-based program that provides the opportunity for people to come together to plan and prepare low cost meals. For a subsidized cost, the group collectively prepares two to three meals that each member can take home and freeze.
Fun in the Kitchen is the summer camp version of the Teaching Kitchen. Children learn the importance of healthy eating, active living and developing confidence in their practical cooking skills.
