At Moncton Headstart, “All kids deserve a Headstart.”

We are committed to providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, high-quality early childhood and family intervention support services to at-risk children and their families. Early childhood intervention combined with targeted parenting programs can make an indispensable contribution to a child’s well-being, ultimately giving children the best chance to thrive.

Our Gala promises to be a memorable event, and we are hopeful we will raise enough funds to purchase a much-needed new bus in the coming year.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

The world-renowned Dr. Bruce D. Perry MD, PhD (NY Times bestseller with Oprah Winfrey) will be speaking to us via a pre-recorded video presentation on the Impact of Abuse, Neglect & Trauma on the Developing Brain and the Importance of Early Child and Family Intervention on vulnerable children.

Dr. Perry’s work on the impact of abuse, neglect and trauma on the developing brain has impacted clinical practice, programs, and policy around the world.

ENTERTAINMENT

Award-winning and record-breaking stand-up comedian: We also have New Brunswick’s favourite comedian, James Mullinger as our Emcee and entertainment. James was one of the UK’s top comedians and the Comedy Editor for GQ magazine before moving to New Brunswick, Canada in 2014.

$100 provides two nutritious meals and snacks to 36 children each day.
$800 per month ensures 36 children are safely transported to Headstart and back home again.
$1000 pays for 10 individualized mental health counselling sessions for parents in need.
$2000 pays for the groceries to make nutritious meals and snacks each month.
